Scottish Open! Links Style. How’s your chipping?
Links style golf is unique and historic. Tight lies with gale force winds! Knowing how to flight your golf ball at different trajectories is critical for success.
For most recreational golfers, flighting the golf ball is a bit above their skill level. However, Chipping is an effective skill to practice while focusing on trajectory.
In honor of the Scottish Open, and Open Championship next week, head out to your local golf course and play around on the practice green. Play 9 holes from tricky areas around the green.
Game Example:
9 Holes: 18 strokes = Par
3 Easy Holes: Flat Lies
3 Challenging Holes: Uneven Lies
3 Very Difficult Holes: Bad Lies
See how many times you can get Up & Down. This game with test your creativity! Remember, golf is supposed to be challenging & fun. Whether you're practicing alone or with family and friends, playing games while you practice is a great way to prepare for the golf course.
If you would like to schedule a group short game lesson to play some games and work on technique, let me know! Split an hour lesson with a group of 2-4 people.
Enjoy your week!
