Generous Golf 🙏
I have written about the heavenly virtues of Patience and Prudence in the game of golf. Now, I would like to address the virtue of generosity and how it can improve your game.
I have been blessed many times with the generosity from others in the game of golf and in life as a whole. The ability to give back what the game has given me is a gracious experience. Making a living as a Coach is a blessing. The game has seen my frustration and excitement over the years. I have quit this game many times, but usually return the next day 😂
Generosity can come in the form of supporting other players in your group by acknowledging good shots or lifting them up when they make a mistake. You can share your knowledge of the golf course that someone else hasn’t played. Creating a positive experience for your group can elevate their attitude and help them relax so that everyone can focus and enjoy themselves.
Playing your best includes your environment. Playing in fundraising outings is a great way to surround yourself with a generous mindset. I have never participated in a scramble where everyone has not been able to contribute in a positive way. It feels like magic, but it’s not. It’s the power of connection in a generous environment that brings out our best. You have a team supporting you regardless of the outcome. We all need that support.
In order to be in a position to be generous, you have to show up and also have others show up for you. Showing up is half the battle. In order to experience our blessings, we have to understand where they come from and that tomorrow is not guaranteed for any of us. Give what you can to the things you appreciate and the relationships you have.
Generosity in the game of golf is one of those intangibles that is easy to overlook when we are struggling. Continue to show up and promote the things you are grateful for.
Have a blessed day 🙏

I will see you out there,
Coach Zach
